Counseling in the time of COVID-19
Psychotherapy continues to be an essential part of the response to the COVID-19 crisis. Social isolation, feelings of depression and anxiety, fear of contagion, job loss, and grief are some of the psychological sequelae that people all over the world still face. As a mental health counselor, it is my privilege to support clients going through life challenges related to the pandemic; to confront the upheaval and cultivate our resilience.
I have a comfortable, spacious office, with a lovely window providing air-flow and sunlight, where I can meet clients in-person. I hold 'walk & talk' sessions in agreed-upon outdoor settings when weather permits. The majority of my work is currently taking place in-person, although I also offer remote sessions using video-teletherapy. I stay up-to-date on State and Local rules as well as CDC guidelines; doing my best to optimize both service and safety for my clients. Ultimately, decisions about session format and the COVID safety plan we implement is informed by science and made in collaboration with each individual client.
